The Merida Scultura 500 is a mid-level carbon frame road bike designed for the everyday rider that wants to get serious with a carbon frame bike. The Scultura 5000 is the ideal bike for those that want to focus on improving their performance on the road. This bike is built to go fast and handle well, but with a much more comfortable position and feel than one might expect. The proven Scultura CF2 frame is remarkably light and durable. The fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin and added nano particles to increase impact resistance by up to 40%. While an inflatable bladder is used in construction to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.
While a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and in the bottom also creates excellent stiffness and precision steering. The cables are hidden internally to give it that neat and tidy look and protect the cables. It is equipped with carbon forks, which provide superb vibration damping and enhance control, the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.
The Scultura 500 uses a Shimano Ultegra groupset, which offers a higher level of quality and performance compared to many comparable road bikes. It comes Di2 ready in case you wish to upgrade to an electronic shifting system. The wider Continental Grand Sport Race 25mm tyres will improve comfort, further acting to dampen vibration felt through the bike. It is important that you are comfortable while you ride and the Scultura 500 makes sure that you are looked after. Feeling comfortable while riding will help you enjoy riding much more and will reduce fatigue to give you an overall better performance.
The Merida Scultura 500 is a great mid-level road bike and really is exceptional value for a carbon frame bike. With a quality Merida frame and a host of Shimano components, you really can’t go past the value of the Scultura 500. It is perfect for a rider starting to focus on performance without breaking the bank.
Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance, you will be convinced it is carbon.
Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Our proven high-end aluminium (6066) is extremely light and durable. Using triple butted wall thicknesses and hydroforming technology, we can tune the aluminium tubes to give the best possible stiffness to weight ratio.
Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.
Bikes/frames with the symbol ‘Di2 Ready’ are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.
Our X-Tapered headtube offers the space for a tapered fork to be fitted. Tapered forks offer superb stiffness and precise and deliver confidence-inspiring steering.

Building a bike to ride smoothly and safely requires specialty tools and expertise. Trained and experienced bike mechanics assemble your bike with precision and care in a professional bike shop environment using correct bicycle specific tools and procedures.
We review your new bike to ensure there are no missing parts and that they all work together as desired - derailleurs shifting perfectly, brakes performing flawlessly, and that your wheels are trued to perfection. Our mechanics complete a thorough 30 point checklist to assure that your new bike is not only perfectly tuned, but that every nut and bolt is torqued to exact technical specifications. This is the same quality control process that we use for the thousands of bicycles that roll out of our bike shop to ensure they are high performing and are safe to ride.
Every bike is then carefully packed and ready to be shipped out using the best shipping companies in the country.
When you receive your new bike all you need to do is complete a simple 10 minute process and you are Ready to Ride. It actually takes longer to remove the foam padding that safely protects your bike than to do the final easy assembly steps.
