The Cervélo Caledonia was conceived on Thursday night rides - routes that often don't have that much to do with "road riding" anymore. When Cervélo tried grafting bigger tires onto their R5 and tightening up the Asperos, a new kind of bike was born.
For the Caledonia, Cervélo wanted durability, light weight and aerodynamics to be balanced and chose a package that met the performance requirements of this type of road bike.
Integrated accessory mounts and hidden fender mounts preserve the bike's sleek lines, so you can ride in pouring rain with lights and computers and still look good.
Using lower modulus carbon fibers in key areas to mitigate the brittleness of high mod fibers, the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort and speed. Oh, and it's suitable for use with a 34mm tire. Or 31mm with fenders.
