The Mavic Ksyrium S Wheelset - Attractive entry-level model

The Mavic Ksyrium S Center Lock Disc is a disc brake compatible wheelset for road bike beginners that convinces with a good stiffness-to-weight ratio, durability, and an attractive finish. It is based on 19 mm wide rims that can be ridden without a tube. This results in advantages such as greater puncture resistance, less rolling resistance, and weight savings. At the center of the wheels are hubs with self-aligning bearings and optimized spoke reception, each fitted with 24 double-butted straight pull front and rear spokes. Special rim bend technology eliminates the need for tubeless rim tape.

  • Lightweight and durable for every day and training performance

  • Laterally stiff and vertically compliant for a more dynamic ride

  • User-friendly tubeless system for more comfort and control

  • Rim profile optimized for disc brakes

  • Rim joint welded (SUP)

  • Infinity hub design for optimal lacing

  • Aluminum axles

  • The front can be converted to quick release (with supplied adapters), not compatible with 15 mm thru-axles

  • Rear optionally convertible to quick release (with supplied adapters)

  • Extra-light Shimano freehub body optionally available

  • No rim tape required thanks to Fore technology

  • ASTM category 2: for use on roads, maintained dirt roads and gravel roads (on Touring and Cross Country bikes) with jumps up to a height of 15 cm

SUP means Soudé Usiné Process and creates a much more stable and smoother rim joint. The rim joint is welded and then milled over to achieve an even braking surface. SUP prevents any brake judder and facilitates spoking and centering of the wheel.

Infinity Hub Design

Infinity hubs from Mavic allow contactless lacing, which prevents noise development under load. At the same time, this design is lighter, stiffer, and easier to maintain. Often you only need one spoke length per wheelset so that an optimal spare parts supply is given.

QRM Auto

QRM Auto stands for Qualité de Roulements Mavic Auto, and is the latest bearing innovation from Mavic. These cartridge bearings with C3 internal clearance are double sealed. Their bearing clearance is automatically adjusted to guarantee smooth running without any play at all times.

Instant Drive 360

The Instant Drive 360 freehub system is super-lightweight and provides a fast frictional connection with an engagement angle of only 9°. A large, non-contact rubber seal reduces friction.

Fore Tapeless Tubeless

Instead of drilling a conventional rim hole, the inner rim base is pressed inwards in one operation and provided with a thread into which the nipples are screwed directly. The outer rim base remains intact. This results in a stiffer and stronger wheel that means rim tape can be omitted, which also translates to weight savings.
