The MTB cousin of the Alba road crank is the praxis works Cadet M30 crankset with a direct mount chainring. This one features the proprietary Wave™ technology and is like every praxis works chainring produced during their own cold forging process. With its shapely forged alloy arms connected to the M30 BB and spindle system, the Cadet is ready for anything you pedal up against.

  • Solid forged aluminum arms

  • 170 / 175  with 3-bolt direct mount ring interface

  • M30 Spindle for use with Praxis M30 BB’s

  • New Wave Tech tooth profile DM ring 49mm or Boost 52mm chain line

  • Works 10/11 or 12sp chains

  • Weight   626g  +/-     (175 with 30T)

  • Q-Factor 172mm

  • Solid forged aluminum construction

  • New Wave Technology tooth profile DM ring included

  • M30 Spindle/Bottom Bracket System

The Cadet mountain crank uses our M30 spindle for use with our M30 BB’s.  We have M30 version  for BSA Eng Threaded, BB90/92,  BB30 and PF30 frames.

SHIMANO — Our Wave Tech DM rings work great with both mechanical Shimano 10/11sp drivetrains, and also their Di2 Electronic drivetrains.

SRAM — Our Wave Tech DM rings work great with SRAM 10/11/12sp chain drivetrains.

Wave™ Tech

The Wave™ pattern applies alternating lateral force to each chain link to actively retain links to ring - going beyond narrow/wide implementation that relies solely on friction. The Wave™ tooth pattern swings right to left, grasping the interior of the chain for retention, but allowing room for mud, debris, and grit to escape. The Wave™ design creates more open areas for mud and debris evacuation and preserves chain retention in adverse conditions - one of many "Achilles' Heels" of narrow/wide designs.

Designed with mindful consideration of system friction, the Wave™ design actively engages the chain but yields much less concentrated wear than competing designs - spreading the load over large surface areas instead. Tough enough for Enduro, Downhill, and also weight conscious for XC riding. These MTB Wave™ Tech rings are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and Hard Anodized to take a beating.

Cold Forging Chainrings

All of praxis works chainrings are created with their proprietary forging process which allows them to manipulate the ring shape and tooth profile more than ever before. With "One-Shot" forging the company is able to increase the amount of shifting features on a chainring which normal CNC manufacturing won't allow.

The process also creates a harder and tougher tooth surface for durability with over 1000 tons. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, timed ramps and tactically placed shift elevators are all jam packed onto a Praxis ring. Translation: All of these small aggregate features add up to one of the most durable and consistent shifting rings ever produced for cyclists.

Cadet M30 Compatibility:

The Alba can be installed in BSA, BB90/92, BB30 and PF30 frames with help of the corresponding praxis works bottom brackets. It is compatible with Shimano 10-/11-speed (also Di2), SRAM 10-/11-speed drivetrains, but not whit SRAM's 12-speed Eagle.

Note: The axle tapers from 30 mm to 28 mm. For that you need praxis works M30 bottom brackets.
