Lean spec, full send — Cannondale's high-comfort, high-capability ethos in a more grounded, accessible build.

Overview

The Synapse Carbon 5 runs Shimano 105 mechanical shifting, carbon frame magic, and wide clearance for real-world roads — Sunday speed and weekday practicality in one package.

A lightweight, smoothly compliant, sleekly aero Synapse carbon frameset with StashPort downtube storage pairs with smooth, consistent, reliable 2x12-speed shifting from Shimano's trusted 105 mechanical drivetrain.

Whether it's your first serious bike or your fifteenth, this one rides like it's in on the secret: the right bike makes all the difference.

Why You'll Like It

A genuine carbon endurance frame

Lightweight, smoothly compliant and sleekly aero, without the premium price of an electronic groupset.

Integrated StashPort storage

Downtube storage built right into the frame means less need for a separate bag on shorter rides.

Dependable Shimano 105 mechanical shifting

Smooth, consistent, reliable 2x12-speed shifting from a trusted, easy-to-service groupset.

A genuinely capable 32c tire setup

DT Swiss 470 rims with Vittoria Zaffiro Pro tires give real grip, durability and speed on mixed road surfaces.

A clean, hidden cockpit

The Cannondale Conceal stem routes cables through the head tube for reduced drag and a tidier front end.

Who Is It For?

The Synapse Carbon 5 suits a rider who wants a genuine carbon endurance frame without the added cost of electronic shifting — a practical entry point into Cannondale's Synapse platform for a first serious road bike or an upgrade from alloy.

For Indian riders dealing with variable road surfaces or long training days, the endurance geometry and wide tire clearance make a genuine difference to comfort without sacrificing pace.

Good to Know
  • A mechanical groupset means simpler cable-based maintenance and no battery to keep charged.
  • The StashPort downtube storage is a genuinely useful spot for a tube, tool and snack without reaching for a separate bag.
  • A quick post-ride wipe-down of the drivetrain and brake rotors keeps everything running smoothly between services.
