The Ride Captain Program is designed to empower experienced and responsible riders to take the lead in BRC rides  ensuring every ride is safe, organized, and enjoyable. Ride Captains embody the Bumsonthesaddle spirit of safety, camaraderie, and growth through cycling.

Meet Adithya, a passionate endurance cyclist, lawyer, singer, and Super Randonneur who claimed the title in just one year. As a key mentor in BRC's Randonneuring101, he leads with heart, sharing long-distance wisdom to inspire new riders. An active Velokofi Cycling Club member and Bumsonthesaddle community leader, Adithya builds vibrant cycling bonds

Meet Nandan, an avid road cyclist who lives for smooth, fast tarmac and rolling hills. Hours in the saddle beat the gym or meditation for him pure focus, pure joy. Tech‑curious and hands‑on, he loves wrenching on his Trek Domane, learning its nuances as he rides. Driven, detail‑oriented, and community‑minded, Nandan brings calm pace and contagious enthusiasm to every group ride.

Meet Tanay Naik is a 19‑year‑old ultra‑endurance cyclist with 16,000+ km ridden and successful 1000 km and 1200 km brevets among the youngest in Asia to do both within a year. Focused on crossing 20,000 km this year, he’s building a future in cycling and sport. Curious, disciplined, and community‑driven, Tanay thrives on shared learning and pushing mental and physical limits.

A powerhouse on the pedals, Ravinder lives for long, steep, brutal climbs and lets grit do the talking. He’s cracked both Half and Quarter Everesting within three days, and uniquely nailed a Half Everesting on Velokofi’s Turahalli‑13, folded into a 400 km sufferfest. Track pants, sweatshirt, no frills just relentless focus. No fuss. No shortcuts. Just the climb.

START LINE SUPPORT

BUMSONTHESADDLE Start Line Support is an initiative to provide kick-ass technical support to race and brevet participants to ensure they ride safely while pushing themselves at the event.

HISTORY

Not being able to ride or race at an event because of mechanical issues is always disappointing. Being riders ourselves, we decided to solve this problem and get more riders completing events successfully. Creating more riding opportunities has always been one of our pillars at BUMSONTHESADDLE and providing neutral support at events was right up the alley.

November 2015, our team of Bike Mechanics set out on for a trial event in Bangalore. A handful of bicycle tools, a bicycle pump and a work stand, they set off to provide technical support at a 200 kms Brevet. And the rest as they say - is history.

We're stoked to have been given the opportunity to successfully provide support at plenty of community run activities over the years - predominantly races, but the occasional brevet and some organised events too. The joy of turning around unfortunate mechanical situations have been awesome and the gratitude in return have kept us gunning to provide more. Having realised how much pre-race support is required, we have successfully signed up with the Bangalore Bicycle Championships (BBCh)  and the Bangalore Randonneurs communities to provide technical support at their events
