I previously owned and used a Trek 3500 and to an extent had a familiarity to Trek's build, design, quality of parts and ride feel. Trek, Giant, Marin and couple of other brands is what I shortlisted.
Decided to go for the Trek FX2 considering bikes within a similar price range, components, overall ratings and reviews for the same online for my purchase.
I believe I made a good choice going for the FX2. The ride feel is top-notch and just what I had in mind. Components that come with the bike are great as well but would definitely forsee myself upgrading them.
I primarily use it for commute to work, frequent casual rides and so the choice for going for a hybrid bike made sense here.
The disc brakes are exceptional and have good bite, drivetrain could see an upgrade but do the job well.
The FX2 misses out on my 5-star rating becuase of the seat comfort (personally, at least to me) over rides past 10 Kms and the weight being on the higher end.
