Instead of telling gravel riders what they needed, Shimano asked them what they wanted for their offroad adventures. The result are the Shimano GRX components which represent the first series especially developed for riding on rough roads and through gravel. The Shimano GRX sets itself apart from the rest of the component world with its gravel specific ergonomics, optimized gearing options, rugged reliability as well as a quiet and stable drivetrain.
The Shimano GRX ST-RX600 dual control lever provides Gravel inspired ergonomics both for the bracket design to accommodate every kind of drop bar and for the lever itself featuring a curved shape and an anti-slip coating for greater mixed-terrain control. In terms of shifting performance the 2x11-speed GRX STI levers are at the same high level like Shimano's top tier group's road bike shifters. In contrast the braking performance is optimized by the brake lever's rotary axle which is positioned 18 mm higher than usual and Shimano's
technology improving the lever's modulation ability. In order to meet the individual needs of the driver, the hydraulic brake lever offers reach and free stroke adjustment as well.
Never hesitate to tackle rough surfaces with the hydraulic Shimano GRX BR-RX810 caliper. In doing so Ice Tech ensures excellent heat dissipation while the BR-RX810's 2 ceramic pistons guarantee excellent braking performance under all conditions. The Flat Mount system makes it possible to attach the disc brake caliper directly at frame or fork. Trouble-free and simple maintenance is provided by the proven One Way Bleeding concept and the Easy Hose Joint System which simplifies brake hose exchanges (brake hose sold separately).
Shimano's GRX cranks are designed to handle a wide variety of terrain and riding styles and feature a 2.5 mm wider chainline for more freedom in frame design and the use of wider tires.
The Hollowtech II GRX FC-RX810-2 crankset relies on a 2x11-speed drivetrain concept and offers the optimum gearing for every terrain and riding style thanks to Shimano's wide range of cassettes and sprocket ratios. The aluminium crank with a 46.9 mm chainline is characterized by the widest gradation of all Shimano components to date which is achieved by a 48 to 31 teeth chainring ratio. The 4-arm chainrings - made of aluminium as well - are compatible to HG-EV and HG-X11 chains.
The Shimano GRX FD-RX810 front derailleur is designed to handle the 17 teeth difference of the FC-RX810-2 crankset's chainrings without effort. Of course, the front derailleur also adapts the 2.5 mm wider chain line of the GRX cranks which allows the use of wider tires. In addition, the FD-RX810 impresses with a natural shifting stroke feeling and its smooth-running functionality which is characterized by a very ergonomic power curve as well as the integration of a cable tension adjustment function.
The mechanical Shimano GRX RD-RX810 rear derailleur is characterized by quiet, smooth, precise and reliable shifting even in the most demanding terrain. This is mainly due to the Shadow RD+ chain stabilisation system which prevents the chain from slapping and dropping as well as from unnecessary movements of the derailleur's cage, thus ensuring uninterrupted shifting performance. That is why an On/Off switch can be found next to the upper pulley, much like Shimano’s mountain bike derailleurs. When activated the rear derailleur pivot takes a firm hold to reduce excessive movement, noise and general "chain chatter".
The RD-RX810 rear derailleur will accommodate cassettes with 11-30 up to cassettes with 11-34 teeth.
Hubs, brake discs and bottom bracket cups are not included. These can be ordered separately.
