Merida Big.Nine 300 IV1 (Silk Gunmetal Grey/Blue)
4711256487939
A fast-rolling 29er hardtail for riders who want wide-range Shimano CUES gearing and tubeless-ready wheels on a dependable aluminium frame.
Overview
The Big.Nine 300 pairs Merida's TFS IV aluminium frame with 29" wheels that roll over rough ground easily and hold their speed well, built around a genuine Shimano CUES 2x10 drivetrain rather than a mixed-tier build.
A Suntour XCR air fork handles the front end with 100mm of travel, Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes bring confident stopping power, and tubeless-ready Merida Comp CC II wheels round out a dependable, double-butted aluminium build.
It suits a rider who wants genuine mid-tier componentry and tubeless-ready wheels on a durable hardtail, for regular trail riding or longer cross-country days.
Why You'll Like It
A genuinely wide CUES 2x10 drivetrain
An 11-39T cassette paired with a double chainring gives an easy gear for steep climbs and a real top end for flat stretches.
Tubeless-ready wheels
The Merida Comp CC II rims are tubeless-ready, so going tubeless for lower rolling resistance and better puncture protection is a straightforward upgrade.
An air-sprung suspension fork
The Suntour XCR fork's 100mm of air-sprung travel smooths out rough ground more efficiently than a basic coil fork.
Confident hydraulic disc braking
Shimano MT200 2-piston brakes bring consistent, low-maintenance stopping power whatever the weather.
A fast-rolling 29er wheel size
Big 29" wheels roll over rough ground more easily and hold speed better than smaller-wheeled hardtails.
Who Is It For?
The Big.Nine 300 suits a rider who's ready for genuine mid-tier componentry on a durable aluminium frame — someone riding regular trails or fire roads who wants dependable performance without a carbon-frame price tag.
For Indian riders tackling fire roads, parks, and mixed tarmac-and-dirt routes, the wide CUES gearing and tubeless-ready wheels make it a genuinely capable everyday off-road bike.
Good to Know
- The wheels are tubeless-ready — going tubeless (tape and valves not included) is worth considering for fewer pinch flats and lower rolling resistance off-road.
- Use the fork's air pressure and rebound settings to dial in the ride feel for your weight and the terrain you ride most.
- A quick post-ride wipe-down of the fork stanchions and drivetrain keeps everything running smoothly between services.
