Hollowtech II uses 24 mm axles and bearings. After studying all factors and testing, Shimano made the decision to adopt the 24 mm diameter axle and bearings to provide the best balance of rotating performance / stiffness / strength / sealing / weight in Shimano Quality.

Good product worth every penny

Good but expensive.

Its a good bb. Using it for more than a year. But price is bit high. Installation is also not so simple as its hollowtech.

Expensive

Does the same thing lower end BBs do but doe it while looking absolutely stellar. Careful though, if the wrench slips while installing or removing, it can scuff up the anodised finish.
It's a sealed bearing BB so no maintenance needed.

Alternative to bb50.

Was looking for bb50 but couldn't find one. Got it for the price of bb50. It's good looking and smooth.
