I am a size 9 so I bought large size. When I opened the package the socks looks small, but when I put it on, it was just perfect. The socks wicks away sweat after my usual 40kms ride and looks clean even after a ride. It reduces some drag if you need some performance improvement, but that is an assumption I have but no real way checking that with data
