Giant Talon 29 0 (Ultra Navy)
1095007124
A hardtail trail bike for riders ready to advance beyond entry-level mountain biking, with a Shimano Deore 1x12 drivetrain and thru-axle hubs built for real singletrack progression.
Overview
The Talon 29 0 sits at the top of the Talon range, built around an ALUXX-grade aluminium frame designed to give aspiring trail riders room to grow. A smooth-riding air-sprung suspension fork, thru-axle hubs, and internal cable routing bring genuine trail-bike features down to a hardtail price point.
A Shimano Deore 1x12-speed drivetrain delivers a wide gear range from a single chainring, with a clutch-equipped rear derailleur that keeps the chain quiet and secure over rough terrain. An integrated chainstay protector and clearance for high-volume tyres up to 2.4 inches round out a build genuinely aimed at technical trail riding rather than just fire roads.
It's built for a rider who wants the most capable version of the Talon platform, with thru-axle stiffness and a modern 1x12 drivetrain that leaves real room to progress as skills improve.
Why You'll Like It
- Genuine trail-bike features: Thru-axle hubs, a tapered fork steerer, and internal cable routing bring higher-tier trail-bike details to an accessible hardtail.
- Wide-range, simple shifting: The Shimano Deore 1x12 drivetrain covers steep climbs and fast descents from a single chainring.
- Secure over rough terrain: The clutch-equipped rear derailleur keeps the chain quiet and in place on technical, bumpy singletrack.
- Room to grow: Clearance for high-volume tyres up to 2.4 inches means the bike can be set up for more aggressive riding as confidence builds.
- Dependable, all-weather braking: Hydraulic disc brakes provide strong, consistent stopping power on technical terrain.
Who Is It For?
The Talon 29 0 suits a rider who's past the absolute beginner stage and wants a hardtail with real trail-bike details — thru-axle stiffness, a wide-range 1x12 drivetrain, and tyre clearance to grow into. It's a strong fit for a rider tackling the rockier, more technical trails found just outside most Indian cities on weekends.
It also works well for a rider who's outgrown a lower-tier Talon and wants a meaningful upgrade in drivetrain range and frame capability without stepping up to full suspension.
Good to Know
The air-sprung suspension fork and thru-axle hubs give the front end a stiffer, more precise feel on technical terrain compared to a quick-release setup. The integrated chainstay protector reduces chain-slap noise and frame wear over rough ground. This colourway is available in S, M, and L sizes.
