The SEEMEE 100 V2.0 is an intelligent tail light that offers smart integrated sensors and enough brightness for both daytime or nighttime riding. It uses transparent optical filters to spread the beam 260 degrees, the maximum output can be reached up to 100 lumens. It has an integrated motion sensor that can automatically detect braking to activate the boosted 100-lumen mode. Regardless of the current output mode, the light will switch to steady 100 lumen for 3 seconds to attract attention.

Magicshine Seemee V2 100 and its extended application in a BEV

I came across this product following a routine web search for a deceleration sensing brake light. The reviews of this product were good and the YouTube videos quite informative. I have mounted this on a hand made frame that’s attached to the parcel tray of my car, behind the rear seats. The light faces the rear windscreen and lights up when my car decelerates. You’d probably ask why? I own an electric car and this car can slow down by regenerative braking. In other words the car will slow down without warning (without the regular brake lights lighting up) when I lift my foot from the throttle. The car’s brake lights do not go on unless the brakes are pressed. And the brakes are rarely needed because the car will slow down by just lifting the foot of the accelerator.
So far it’s working fine. I’ve left it on the smart mode where the flashing light will go to sleep if the car remains undisturbed for more than 5 minutes. On slowing down the LEDs light up with full intensity to warn motorists behind me. I’m grateful for the buy and I hope it’ll last a few years.
