I have purchased two of them in the interval of 1.5 months. I am using it on Scott Speedster Contessa 15 and other on Triban RC 120. I am regular cyclist and I do approx. 200-300Kms in a week. The roads where I ride is a Highway with some patches. So far these tires have sustained and performed good. The road grip and stopping distance post break is also good. Therefore I am rating it as 4 star, as the tires life is still under review.
3 flats in first 600km. I rode only on tarmac road. Maintained 110psi pressure.
Sorry to hear about the punctures Akhil. But we have plenty of Indian riders riding this across the country. Could it just be an unfortunate stretch thats caused this? Howmuch ever puncture protection is built into tires, sharp object will def cause a puncture
No problem until unless moved on smooth road
Luckily found this last set of tire at BOTS in December. But unfortunately requiring replacement after 3000km in just 2 months....
Mostly rode on Airport road.
Maxxis detonator 700x28c Tire feels slick and light. Used it with a Tire liner and maintained 110 psi.
Sadly after Anchetty and Avalabetta ride, noticed a huge tear and tire deformed around it. Plus most of the tire has small cuts.
Faced one puncture in Jan and assumed it was due to the heat as I had tire liner and tube was filled with sealant.
Dec - KGF 200K BRM, Hiryur 400K BRM, Chintamani 200K, Mysore 200K
Jan - 12 Nandi hill climb, Anchetty 200K and Avalabetta 200K BRM
Installed second set of tires on 27/1/22 and had a puncture on 28/1/22. Not suitable for Indian Roads at all !!! ☹️☹️☹️.... Totally dissatisfied with the tire quality !!!
Its a pity you had a puncture within a day - but no tire is really puncture proof. The Maxxis detonators are pretty decent value for money tires that a LOT of riders are quite confidently using. Maybe a set of good tire liners would be helpful if you live in an area with extremely bad road conditions? Our rider support will be happy to help recommend a good pair.
