Merida Big.Nine 60-3x (Matt Bronze/Black)
4710949835149
A RockShox-equipped 29er hardtail for riders who want a genuinely wide triple-chainring gear range, a proper suspension fork, and reliable hydraulic disc brakes.
Overview
The Big.Nine 60-3x pairs Merida's TFS III aluminium frame with a more comfort-focused geometry, built around a RockShox Judy TK suspension fork — a genuine step up from the basic forks found on entry-level hardtails.
A Shimano Altus 3x9 drivetrain gives a wide 27-gear range for tackling anything from steep climbs to fast flat stretches, and hydraulic disc brakes bring confident, consistent stopping power in all conditions.
It suits a rider who wants a genuinely capable suspension fork and the widest possible gear range on a dependable aluminium hardtail, for regular off-road touring or fast urban rides.
Why You'll Like It
A genuine RockShox suspension fork
The Judy TK fork's lockout and 100mm of travel bring real suspension performance, a step up from basic entry-level forks.
The widest possible gear range
A triple chainring and 9-speed cassette give an exceptionally easy gear for steep climbs alongside a real top end for flat stretches.
Reliable hydraulic disc brakes
Confident, consistent stopping power whatever the weather, with lower maintenance demands than rim brakes.
A comfort-focused aluminium frame
Merida's TFS frame geometry is built for long off-road tours and everyday riding, not just racing.
A dependable Shimano Altus drivetrain
Altus-level shifting brings genuine reliability for regular use, not just occasional weekend rides.
Who Is It For?
The Big.Nine 60-3x suits a rider who wants the widest possible gear range and a genuine suspension fork on a dependable hardtail — ideal for long off-road tours as well as fast rides through the urban jungle.
For Indian riders tackling steep climbs, varied terrain, or longer mixed tarmac-and-dirt routes, the extra-wide triple-chainring range makes climbing noticeably easier without sacrificing top-end speed.
Good to Know
- With a triple chainring, easing off the pedals briefly during a front shift keeps gear changes smooth.
- Use the fork's lockout lever on smooth climbs or tarmac stretches to keep pedaling efficient.
- A quick post-ride wipe-down of the fork stanchions and drivetrain keeps everything running smoothly between services.
