Size

A versatile 27.5" hardtail for recreational and trail riders who want a wide triple-chainring gear range and hydraulic disc braking at an accessible price.

Overview

The Big.Seven 20-3x pairs Merida's TFS aluminium frame with nimble 27.5" wheels and a more comfort-focused geometry, built for riders who want capability across both recreational and light trail riding.

A Shimano Tourney/Acera 3x8 drivetrain gives a genuinely wide 24-gear range for tackling climbs, a lockable 100mm Suntour fork smooths out rough ground, and hydraulic disc brakes bring reliable stopping power in all conditions.

It makes the most sense for a rider who splits their time between easier trails, fire roads and everyday riding, and wants a dependable, well-rounded hardtail that won't hold them back.

Why You'll Like It

A genuinely wide 24-gear range

The Shimano Tourney/Acera 3x8 drivetrain gives an easy gear for climbs and a real top end for flat stretches, so you're covered across varied terrain.

Hydraulic disc brakes

Reliable stopping power in all weather conditions, without the maintenance demands of a higher-tier groupset.

A lockable suspension fork

The Suntour XCT30 fork's lockout firms up the front end for efficient climbing and smooths out rough ground when you need it.

Nimble 27.5" handling

Smaller wheels than the Big.Nine range make for quicker, more agile handling — especially useful for shorter riders.

A comfort-focused aluminium frame

Merida's TFS frame keeps weight down and maximizes strength without compromising on comfort.

Who Is It For?

The Big.Seven 20-3x suits a rider who wants one dependable bike for both recreational riding and light trail use — someone who isn't chasing race-day performance but still wants real off-road capability, particularly shorter riders who'll appreciate the nimbler wheel size.

For Indian riders navigating fire roads, parks, and mixed tarmac-and-dirt routes around the city, the wide gearing range and dependable disc brakes make it a genuinely practical everyday off-road companion.

Good to Know

With a triple chainring, easing off the pedals briefly during a front shift keeps gear changes smooth and quiet.
Use the fork's lockout lever on smooth climbs or tarmac stretches to keep pedaling efficient.
A quick post-ride wipe-down of the fork and drivetrain keeps everything running smoothly between services.
