A trail-ready hardtail for riders who want to push past groomed singletrack, with a SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission groupset, a 120mm X-Fusion fork and a dropper post that make rougher, steeper terrain genuinely manageable.

Overview

The Xtrada 7 is Polygon's answer to riders who've outgrown a pure cross-country hardtail but aren't ready to jump to full suspension. The ALX aluminium frame is UDH-compatible (Universal Derailleur Hanger), which is what lets it run SRAM's latest Transmission-based drivetrain and keeps the bike easy to service and upgrade down the line.

The build reflects that trail-first positioning. A SRAM Eagle 70 T-TYPE groupset - direct-mount derailleur, 1x12-speed trigger shifter, and a wide 10-52T cassette - shifts cleanly even under load, which matters more on technical climbs than a cross-country setup accounts for. Up front, an X-Fusion Migo RC Damper fork with 120mm of Boost thru-axle travel adds stiffness and control that a basic coil fork can't match, and an X-Fusion Manic LC dropper post (150mm travel) lets you drop the saddle out of the way before a descent instead of stopping to adjust it. Maxxis Rekon tires, tubeless-ready, round out a setup that's clearly built for grip and confidence on varied terrain, not just rolling speed.

It's suited to riders who already have a regular trail or singletrack route and want a bike that handles the technical sections as capably as the climbs - someone riding local hill trails on weekends, or taking on a full day out where the terrain changes character more than once. The dropper post in particular is the kind of feature that matters once you're riding somewhere with real elevation change, which describes a lot of trail riding around Indian hill stations and off-road routes.

Why You'll Like It

SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission groupset
A direct-mount rear derailleur and 1x12-speed SL-70-A1 trigger shifter give crisp, reliable shifting with a 10-52T cassette range wide enough for steep climbs and fast descents alike.

X-Fusion Migo RC Damper fork
120mm of Boost thru-axle travel with a rebound/compression damper soaks up chatter and bigger hits with more precision than a basic coil fork, keeping the front wheel planted on rough trail sections.

X-Fusion Manic LC dropper post
150mm of travel lets you lower the saddle on the fly before a technical descent and bring it back up for the next climb, without stopping to adjust a seat clamp.

UDH-compatible frame
The Universal Derailleur Hanger means the frame is built around current drivetrain standards, so replacement parts and future upgrades are simpler to source.

Maxxis Rekon tubeless-ready tires
A trail-proven tread pattern that grips reliably across loose and mixed surfaces, with TLR construction that's ready to be set up tubeless for fewer pinch flats and lower rolling resistance.

Wheel Fit Size System
Frame sizes are matched to wheel size (27.5" on smaller frames, 29" on larger ones) so proportions and handling stay right across the size range rather than forcing one wheel size onto every rider.

Who Is It For?

This is built for riders who already have a trail or singletrack route in mind and want a bike that doesn't hold them back on the technical sections - weekend trail groups, or someone planning a full day out where the terrain shifts between climbs, descents and rough sections more than once. The dropper post and wider-range SRAM drivetrain are specifically trail-riding features, not cross-country racing ones, so this suits a rider prioritizing control and confidence over outright climbing speed.

It also works well as a step-up bike for someone moving on from an entry-level hardtail who wants a noticeably more capable fork, dropper post and drivetrain without the cost and complexity of full suspension. Given the mixed surfaces, loose gravel, and monsoon-affected trail conditions common across Indian riding, the tubeless-ready tires and Boost thru-axle wheels are genuinely useful upgrades over a cheaper, more basic hardtail setup - not just spec-sheet additions.

Good to Know

Set the X-Fusion fork's sag to roughly 15-20% of travel for most trail riding - a shock pump makes this a quick job and noticeably improves small-bump sensitivity.

Setting the Maxxis Rekon tires up tubeless (they're TLR-ready) is worth doing if you plan to ride loose or rocky trails regularly - it allows lower pressures for more grip with less risk of pinch flats.

The dropper post is actuated by a remote lever at the handlebar - get familiar with dropping and raising it in a flat, open area before taking it onto technical terrain so it becomes second nature on the trail.
