Good but not as smooth as the Shimano Tiagra

Very good
Great replacement for the microshift R8 shifters on my Triban RC120 bike. The microshift drivetrain is unreliable, clunky as against this Shimano which is slick and reliable. I installed both the shifters and the derailleurs together so that I get the same feel. I must say that it is nowhere as smooth as the Tiagra shifters and derailleur but that is understandable keeping in mind the huge cost difference between the Tiagra and the Claris. But the difference in shifting smoothness and reliability between Shimano and Microshift is like Day and Night!
