Overview
Ogre is designed to be the ultimate steel utility vehicle — one bike that gets you to work during the week and way out of town on the weekend. It isn't sluggish on pavement or gravel, and it holds its own on singletrack too, making it one of the more adaptable bikes in Surly's lineup.
The build runs a SRAM NX crank through a Microshift Advent X 10-speed drivetrain with an 11-48T cassette, stopped by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. WTB ST i30 wheels are wrapped in Surly's own ExtraTerrestrial 29 x 2.5" tubeless-ready tires, giving it genuine off-road capability without sacrificing on-road manners.
It's built for riders who want to haul real cargo on a daily commute and still have a bike capable of a loaded tour when the opportunity comes up, in snow, sleet, or sweltering humidity.
