A bright, smart rear light for road riders and city commuters who want traffic to see them from behind and from the side, day or night.
Why it matters
- Light on the road, not just on the bike. Besides the 300 lm main light, a second OptiTracing light projects red light onto the road all around the back of your bike. A driver pulling out of a side road or overtaking close sees a lit patch of road, not just a small dot, which helps in busy city traffic.
- Gets brighter when you slow down. A motion sensor detects braking and boosts the light, so the car behind you notices you're slowing. A brightness sensor reads the light around you and sets the output for day or night.
- Charge it rarely. The 1600 mAh battery runs up to 40 h on Low at night and up to 200 h on Eco in daylight, and refills over USB-C in about 2 hours. On an hour-long daily commute, that is weeks between charges on the lower modes.
Good to know
- The brightest modes trade runtime for punch: High and Smart Night last about 6 h at night. For a long night ride, start with a full charge or use Low or Eco.
- IPX6 means it is protected against heavy rain and strong spray, so monsoon commutes are fine. It isn't rated for being submerged.
- It has no app, ANT+ or radar. If you want alerts for cars coming up behind you, look at the Magicshine Seemee 508 Radar rear light.
- A three-level indicator shows how much battery is left, so you can check before you head out.

- Mount: quarter-turn quick-release, the same system as other Magicshine Seemee rear lights. A seatpost mount with strap and a saddle mount are included; Magicshine says it fits all standard saddles and seatposts.
