Overview
The Metron TTW is Vision's dedicated time-trial rear wheel — "TTW" standing for Time Trial Wheel — built as a solid carbon disc rather than a conventional spoked wheel. Where a spoked aero wheel still has to manage airflow around dozens of individual spokes, a disc wheel presents one continuous carbon surface to the air, which is why disc wheels are a fixture at the rear of TT and triathlon bikes but are never used up front, where a spinning disc would catch crosswinds dangerously.
The rim section is a full-carbon, 45mm-deep clincher profile with a 21mm internal rim width, built around Vision's V-1000 PRS (Power Ratchet System) hub with sealed chromoly bearings and a centerlock disc-brake mount. It's set up for a 12x142mm thru-axle rear end and is tubeless-ready on top of standard clincher tyre compatibility, so it can run a tubeless tyre and sealant setup for lower rolling resistance without a separate tube.
In practice this wheel earns its keep specifically on individual time-trial stages, triathlon bike legs and similar flat-to-rolling courses without heavy crosswind exposure — conditions that are common on the long, straight highway TT and triathlon bike courses found across India. Run tyre pressure appropriate to your weight and the rim's 21mm internal width — a slightly wider tyre than you'd run on a narrower rim tends to measure out closer to its stated width and ride more comfortably at the same pressure.
