Overview

The 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher is Zipp's shallowest and lightest Firecrest wheel, built to be equally at home on a climb, a fast group ride or as a daily hoop. At 32mm deep it still carries a real aerodynamic advantage over a box-section rim, while staying calm in crosswinds because the Firecrest shape moves the wheel's centre of pressure close to the steering axis.

This is the rear wheel only, with a SRAM/Shimano road 10/11-speed freehub. It's a rim-brake wheel with a carbon braking surface built with Zipp's Carbon Clincher technology — a resin based on motorsport braking materials that tolerates the heat of hard braking — so use it with Zipp's carbon-specific pads. The rim is a wide 25.4mm at its widest, with a blunt profile that keeps the same aero behaviour whether it's the leading or trailing edge of the wheel.

Good to Know

This is a rim-brake, quick-release wheel with a carbon braking surface. Use Zipp's recommended carbon-specific brake pads (Tangente Platinum) — regular aluminium-rim pads can damage the surface — and have your BOTS mechanic set up pad alignment carefully. Confirm your cassette is 10/11-speed SRAM/Shimano road before ordering.
