A must-attend session for everyone who owns a bicycle, or is just keen to learn more about our wonderful world of bicycles.
Our New Cyclist Bootcamp is an introductory course where expert Bike Specialists will take you through the basics of ownership, maintenance, and joys of riding a bicycle. And end it with a fantastic Q&A session to ask everything you desire to know more about. A great way to bootstrap your journey as a cyclist.
New cyclists love it and we're gunning for every new cyclist to sign up for this.
The course is aimed at individuals new to cycling with little, or no prior knowledge of bicycle repair and maintenance, who don’t consider cycling their main hobby but who want the confidence to know that if something goes wrong with their bike they would be able to make it home safely and know that they are riding a mechanically safe bicycle.
- Basic Bicycle Terminology - The ‘must-have’ list of basic tools and essential spares - Basic Riding Skills - Braking, Shifting, Hydration - Learn the ABC & Q checks! - The Art of washing your bike - Basic lubrication tips & tricks - Parts that are most likely to wear or need replacing most often and how to identify if they need replacement - Service Schedules - Wheel removal and re-fitting - How to mend a puncture – tire removal and use of tire levers, removing, repairing, and/or replacing an inner tube - Adjustments that can be made to the bicycle for optimum rider comfort and correct saddle height adjustment
The instruction will be in the English language via the Google Meet platform - either by downloading their FREE app or you can also use a browser via the link that will be shared with you once you sign up for the session. The session can be accessed via your phone, computer, or tablet. A stable internet connection is essential and headphones will enhance the experience.
A notebook and pen will be useful to take notes as these sessions are not recorded but delivered live. Tools, having a bike on hand and prior cycling knowledge is not required.
The overall session typically lasts about an hour.
